Dugg
Dugg is an intelligent and playful pibble who is happy in his new home. Adopted from the humane society in Feb. 2010 his age was estimated to be 10 months old. He had spent nearly 6 months living at the shelter... un-adopted for all that time, but the shelter people knew he was a good boy and he was not put down. He had been picked up as a stray puppy with obvious signs of neglect and when we found him at the humane society he was shy and stand-offish, underweight and unhealthy in appearance... he was also labeled on his cage "lab-mix". Still, something stood out to us about him and we decided to give him a chance... the shelter allowed us to foster him for a few weeks, something they don't often do for dogs of his age but they were intent on finding him a home.
Our first few weeks with Dugg were very hard. His health was poor and his behavior was erratic. We had no idea of knowing what effects his time as a stray and a very prolonged stay in a shelter would be on his behavior, and we were very close to returning him to the shelter. We ended up keeping him and are very glad we did!
Our "lab-mix" as we sometimes call him, has developed into a great snuggler when indoors and a super fun outdoor play partner. He enjoys the couch and watching TV. Dugg has come a long way very fast and is obedient off-leash already! Luckily he is no longer penned up and has a large country yard to run.
Dugg likes: Peanut Butter in his Kong Ball, his pibble cousins Willy & Bubba which we visit to play with often, the couch, the backyard and hugs.
Dugg dislikes: Thunderstorms, the upstairs hallway, the vacuum, water and swimming, people with ignorant opinions toward pitbulls.
