After spending 2 great years with our girl Rose, we decided that we were ready to get a second dog. So we began going through the process of searching for that perfect dog again. We spent countless hours on petfinder.com once again, started up the phone calls and the emails and the applications all over. The only difference this time around is that we were set on the fact that the dog had to be around here so that our girl could meet the new dog too, it had to be a male and we were looking for another Pittie. After just about going cross eyed from staring at the computer screen, my boyfriend and I decided that we would just go out and make the rounds of the local shelters. We did have certain dogs in mind that we wanted to meet from each of the shelters, but we were open. We decided last minute to bring our girl along with us. We began at the MSPCA and were pleasantly surprised when we saw that every pit bull they had was already going through an adoption. It was very bittersweet. We had gone to see a dog we really liked but he was already adopted. So although we were disappointed, we were so happy for the breed as a whole! Our next step was a local shelter that we decided on a whim to go check out. As we were waiting in the kennel for one dog to come in from his potty break, the dogs were in the runs and were barking or whining, but there was one that was silent. She was proudly sitting there, not making a sound, staring at my boyfriend. There was no way you couldnt be hypnotized by her big, beautiful, golden eyes. We decided there on the spot to take her out for a walk, meet her and have her meet our girl Rose. They became instant friends. We brought her home that day, February 21, 2010. She is the class clown, lovable and cuddly as anything. She's a full 70lbs of love, goofiness and pure happiness.
