Rosie Grace
Rosie was one of a litter of 10 puppies that a friend of ours rescued the week before Christmas 2008. His family kept one of the puppies and was VERY careful about adopting out the other 9.
Although my husband & I both had dogs while we were growing up, Rosie is the first dog for our family (me, hubbie & daughter Hannah who was 10 when we adopted Rosie). She's a big sweetie pie - like most pits - who loves everyone. She's also a great breed ambassador because she loves greeting everyone she meets in the park, walking around town, or going to her favorite pet store. Although most people recognize that Rosie is a pit, I've actually had people ask me what kind of dog she is while they're petting her. She's surprised some folks and has changed some minds regarding what people thought they knew about pits.
Fun fact - Rosie LOVES to play on slides. The playsets at our park have several different types of slides that have steps instead of ladders. Although the steps are steep, she heads right up them and thinks nothing of crossing a metal grid bridge 8 feet off the ground to get to her favorite slide.
